Great loads in 10 ga., 12 ga., 16 ga., 20 ga., and 28 ga. are shown in Hodgdon’s Reloading Data Center. This propellant provides true magnum velocities with superb patterns. In addition, LONGSHOT is the best choice for those competitors shooting games such as "Buddy", "Annie Oakleys" and more. Starline cases and Winchester Small Pistol primers were used for all handloads. Springfield Armory XD pistol with a 4-inch barrel and fixed open sights was used for testing. Velocities were taken 12 feet from the muzzle with an Oehler Model 33 or Model 35P chronograph. Accuracy is the average of three, five-shot groups at 15 yards from a sandbag rest. Range temperatures were 62 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit. .355-inch jacketed bullets and .356-inch cast bullets.

A custom Taurus Model 80 with a 6-inch Jarvis barrel and a Tasco PDP3 five-minute dot sight were used for all testing. Winchester +P cases and Federal No. 100 primers were used for all handloads, except for the 2.7-grain Bullseye/148-grain DEWC load, which used WSP primers and mixed cases. Accuracy is the average of at least three, five-shot groups at 25 yards, unless otherwise noted. Velocities were measured with an Oehler M-35P chronograph with the front screen 12 feet from the gun's muzzle. All shooting was done double action from a rest. Range temperatures were 58 to 69 degrees Fahrenheit.

A Smith & Wesson Model 627PC with a 5.5-inch barrel and a Tasco PDP3 sight was used for testing. Velocities were taken 12 feet from the muzzle with an Oehler Model 35P chronograph. Accuracy is based on the average of three, five-shot groups at 25 yards from a sandbag rest. Range temperatures were 62 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Be careful with AAC-7 loads.
It seems the burn rate has changed, and there appears to be more than one generation currently in the supply line. On the other hand, the powder gives excellent results and is among the best choices for the .460 Rowland. The Sierra bullet gave the best accuracy results. The XTP bullet would be the toughest for penetration on game, expanding well and holding together. The Nosler gives a bit more penetration than the Sierra but by a small margin, and the Nosler is very accurate. Begin at least 10 percent below powder charge.

Test gun was a custom CZ 75 converted to 9x21mm with a 5.25-inch barrel and three-port compensator. Accuracy is the average of three (or more) five-shot groups at 25 yards. Overall loaded length of all loads was 1.160 inches. Starline nickel-plated cases and Winchester Small Pistol primers were used throughout. Temperatures at time of testing were 65 to 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Average accuracy of all loads tested: 1.36 inches. CV is coefficients of variation and is the standard deviation expressed as a percent of the average velocity.
